le party blog pt.2
Ok it has been a while, but I’m back with new party news. I had to look back in my iphoto and check the flyers form all the events that have past but here it comes… Beginning from the 4th of October when I played a 5hour long hip hop set at the Kingz & Queenz shop in Bruges. Saw some familiar faces passing by, always nice!
The week after that I got the pleasure to meet Davidov at the Entrenous. Really expected more people to come that night! That’s the problem with Bruges, If there’s more than 4 parties on one night they don’t know wich to choose. He was really cool about the situation and just played some old school tracks. We talked a little bit and he invited me to come to his new concept ‘Woop Woop’ at Decadance Ghent. It’s a similar party(concept) like the one I’m planning. More on that later!
The day after my set with Davidov Heads High had there 3 years anniversary at the Entrepot in Bruges and I got a free pass to get in. But only to work. I did a report for the new radio in town, Villa Bota! Check the whole thing here, interviews with Bootlickaz, Crooked Facts, Swordz and dj ND (dmc benelux champ). Daddy K was the headliner but got in a car accident. He did an effort and made it anyway! The party was good and I had a great time! Here are some pictures…
For Halloween I got an invite to play in Ostend at the Tao club. Had to do a very long set… 6 hours and 20 minutes, wow still can’t believe it! Had to play the whole night for a very weird crowd! They wanted me to play commercial music and that’s really not my style. But I tried. I took all my stuff and ran to the Train station to catch the first one home… Sadly the train stayed in the station for over an hour so I called a ride.
On friday the 13th I had a late set at L’amaral after Onca Ray. I had a bad feeling of the whole day and my set did nothing good to it. I got a message on my way over there that Onca Ray couldn’t install his serato so they where all waiting on me. Got there and tried to install mine but it didn’t work either. After testing the material I found where the problem was. One of the turntables was broken. On that moment I remembered a little trick you can do with serato, playing with just one turntable. I did that for two hours and got a ride home by the waitress.
The 21st of November I played at ‘Back 2 the Roots’. I hadn’t got a good feeling about the party but had a great time! The crowd was good and really feeling the music. I played some commercial and a little hard electro for them and they went nuts!!! Next year I’m gonna be the headliner, so I’ve heard.

LE PARTY BLOG pt.1
I had to check my agenda and iphoto to recall what happend these past weeks. It has been such a busy but fun month! The 11th I had a Club night for myself and friends at Entrenous Bruges. I invited B-kay a well known dj in Belgium who plays at parties like PIMP, Coolsweat, Suite 18 and is resident at Tao. I talked to him before but didn’t got the change to hear him spin. So it was the ideal way to get to know his style and music choice. He came through and did his thing. To bad there was so much to do in Bruges that night.
It was a good night without any sleep for me. Had to get in the car at 6 am to move my stuff into the new apartment. Had to rush back for my late afternoon set at a soccercontest in my hometown. It wasn’t that big of a deal but got to see my homie Subject again and finally met Vyron. That guy knows how to spin his dubstep! After my set I wend home to catch some sleep. Couldn’t sleep! so I got ready for my last set of the weekend at Doowop. I told y’ll about it in this previous blog. I had to play from 0 to 1:30 am and did a mixed set of old & new hip hop. Had fun that night with my friends. I wanna thank Dennie for the nice pictures that night and crooked facts for giving me a change to do my thing!
So after a bit of party fun I got some sleep, finally. I had to work the next day, but it was worth it. Had to start at 10 and was already in the hospital at 12:30. I got stong by a wasp in my mouth while drinking cola. Had to wait so long untill they looked at me… A syringe with a very big needle did the job and I got to rest for the rest of the day. I woke up after 17hours of sleep and was ready to start of a new week!
Saterday the 18th I wend out to Knokke to support the Bootlickaz & Crooked facts with there new concept ‘Say Cheese’. Also got to see dj Psar for the first time live. The whole intention behind this concept was that you could get your picture taken and maybe end up on the next flyer. The next one is coming in November so I’m curious who’s gonna be on it. The day after I had a set planned with Tweet, 1/3 of Crooked Facts at Checkpoint Charlie. Didn’t really like the sound there and the mixer was a little to crappy for my taste. It’s a great place for a good party but it needs a stronger soundsystem. Some people from the night before came by, maybe for a little afterparty? Anyway an other weekend was past and I got a mail to play at L’amaral the next weekend. Did an eclectic set with some Bmore and electro mixed in. People kept asking for the Major Lazer song ‘Pon the floor’… I’ve been spinning the song since it came out and now its really getting through to people how good it is.
So this was pt. 1 of ‘le party blog’ and more is coming up soon! This week I have sets at Villa Bota and Kingz & Queenz. On the 16th of October Davidov, Deliciaz and myself are playing at the Entrenous, its gonna be a good night, I’m sure!!!
